Yes, the Yoco card readers can be used with multiple devices. For example, if you and your business partner each have a phone and want to use the card reader separately, you can. However, the card reader can only be used with one device (phone or tablet) at a time. Two people cannot use one card reader at the same time.
You will require a stable internet connection to use Yoco.Your phone or tablet will need to be connected to the internet to authenticate payments you accept using Yoco. You can connect to the internet via 3G (cellular data) or Wi-Fi (ADSL internet connection).Yoco does not use much data to process a payment. One transaction uses approximately 50 - 100 KB of data. You can therefore run 10 - 20 transactions per MB, or 10 000 - 20 000 transactions per GB.
Yes. You can email or SMS your customers a receipt. This is a fantastic environmentally friendly alternative to paper receipts.You do not pay anything to send these receipts and they can be resent at any time.
Yes. We have a 1 year manufacturing warranty which will cover any manufacturing defaults. Please note should the reader be damaged through negligence (e.g. dropped) this warranty does not cover the replacement.

After completing your sign up for Yoco you will have one of the following free and speedy options for delivery just remember to have your FICA documents handy.Courier Options:• CCD Couriers: you will be called the day after you have completed our sign up process to set up a day, a time and location for delivery.Pick up options:• Postnet: After you have completed our sign up process you will receive an SMS when your Yoco card reader is ready for collection at the Postnet you chose during application.• Pargo: After you have completed our sign up process you will receive an SMS when your Yoco card reader is ready for collection at the Pargo collection point you chose during application. This SMS will include an OTP (One-Time-Pin) that you will have to use at the collection point.• Yoco office (Cape Town): During your sign up process you may choose Yoco’s Cape Town office for collection and you will be notified once the device is ready via email.We work tirelessly with our delivery partners to ensure you will get your reader as quickly as possible.
Please note FICA documents will be required when the device is delivered. This is needed to activate settlement on your account. All the card transactions you process with Yoco are paid by Yoco directly into the bank account you provided us with during the registration phase. The amount we settle to your account will be less our transaction fee.Yoco will settle your account within one working day, and just like normal EFT payments, your money will reflect in your account within 24 - 48 hours. The minimum settlement amount is R15.00 and there are no charges for settling your account.
Yoco enables you to easily process Visa and MasterCard debit and credit cards. Including chip & PIN, swipe and international cards.Yoco does not currently support RCS, fleet, AMEX, Diner's Club or UnionPay cards.
Only straight payments can be processed on the Yoco card readers. No budget payments can be put through the card readers.The physical card needs to be present for all transactions. Unfortunately no manual or online transactions can be processed.
You can sign up online, either as a registered South African business, individual (unregistered business), NPO or Trust.• You will need an Android or iOS smartphone or tablet (see our list of compatible devices).• You will need a South African bank account that we can link to your Yoco account.• If you are signing up as an individual, you must be a South African citizen or permanent resident with a valid registered SA I.D. number.• If you are signing up as a registered business, the applicant must be a principal, director or legal entity.• You will need to be approved for FICA purposes, which will require a copy of your ID and proof of residence to be presented during delivery.• You will need to be processed through our vetting system for safety and security which includes a credit check.

Yes, you can add and manage staff through our app. Adding staff members to Yoco is useful if you want several people to use your Yoco account with different permissions. You can also use the staff functionality to create different logins for different locations.In order to add a staff member to your Yoco account, log in to the Yoco Business Portal with your login details.1. Select the "Business" tab2. Select the "Staff" from the Business Menu3. Select the "Invite Staff Member" or " + " button on the bottom right hand side of the screen4. Fill in the required information.5. Select "Show advanced permissions" and select what permissions you would like to give your staff member eg. "Can perform transactions" & "Can manage items"6. Every Yoco merchant has a unique referral code. For every person who signs up using your referral code and transacts successfully with Yoco, you will receive R500 and they will receive R250. This will be rebated in the form of an EFT.In order to refer friends to Yoco please do the following:• Log into your Business Portal using the email address and password you signed up with.• Click on the "Refer a friend" button in the top right corner. Here you will see your referral code which can be shared via email, Facebook, Twitter or copied to send directly to your friend.• During sign up there is a “promo code” field. This is where the referral code can be inserted in order for both parties to be rewarded.
