What do you love most about owning a business?

We asked a few hard working business owners (who also happen to be smart enough to use Yoco) what they love about running their own business. Their passion for what they do was truly inspirational to see.

What do you love most about owning a business?

A wise man once said:

Do what what you love and you’ll never have to work a day in your life

Marc Anthony

There are probably a number of entrepreneurs out there who would beg to differ (that’s a polite way of saying smack him in the face). Running your own business takes work. And some more work. And just when you think there is no more work, you find some more. But at the end of the day you wouldn’t be doing it if it wasn’t something that you absolutely loved. Here’s why some of our Yoco merchants love what they do.

What do you love most about owning your own business?

“I used to work in a corporate structure and what I love about having my own business is you can be creative and make changes without having a huge committee meeting about it.”

– Richard Bosman, Bacon on Bree

“Seeing your dream come to life – and people responding to that positively – is immensely fulfilling.”

– Colette Robert, The General Store

“Knowing that we’ll be able to leave a legacy behind for our kid.”

– Khaya Sibiya, Punk & Ivy

“Technology and creating beautiful things. When I get a machine that can print in ways we never could before – I just get excited.“

– Uri Mosfowitz, Deep Agency

“When things go right, it’s ME that made them right. It feels flipping amazing.”

– Meg Deane, By Meg

“Our food. We’re extremely passionate about our food. We think about food constantly.”

– Amy Scott, The Hungry Herbivore

So there you have it. The plain honest reason for why people love running their own businesses. For more insight into our Yoco merchants and small business owners, visit our Facebook and Twitter pages.
